SSE selects Seaway7 for 1.4GW Berwick Bank B project
Around 500 jobs are expected to be supported through an infrastructure agreement for SSE Renewables’ proposed Berwick Bank B offshore wind farm.
SSE has appointed Aberdeen-based Seaway7 as its preferred supplier for work on the 1.4 gigawatts project.
The agreement is expected to support 465 jobs across the UK, including 400 in Scotland. Approximately 160 direct roles will be based principally at Seaway7’s Aberdeen operation, while another 105 jobs will be supported through the domestic supply chain.
Berwick Bank B is planned for the outer Firth of Forth, approximately 38 kilometres from the Scottish Borders coastline.
SSE and Seaway7 have previously worked together on the Beatrice and Seagreen offshore wind farms and are involved in the development of Dogger Bank.
